CSS 2022 Syllabus [With Subjects Guidelines]

CSS Preparation

CSS Exam stands for Central Superior Service Exam.CSS Exam is conducted by the Federal Public Service Commission  FPSC Islamabad for the Requirement of candidates to posts (BS_17) in the following Under the Federal Government. Commerce and Trade Services.

Eligibility Criteria

A Candidates must hold at least 2nd Division or Grade C bachelor  degree  in any faculty of one of the Pakistani universities or bachelor degree from foreign uni must be recognized by HEC,

Age Limit

Candidates for admission to the examination must have attained the age of 21 years and not over 30 years.

CSS Subjects Guidelines

CSS subjects can be divided into two categories

1. Compulsory Subjects
2. Optional Subject

CSS Compulsory Subject

4. General Knowledge

English Essay

Maximum Marks 100. The time allowed 3 hours,2500 to 3000 wards should be written,,10 topics are given for essay,, these topics are related to

• Current Affairs
• Literature
• General Knowledge
• The Political Situation of Pakistan 

For a good essay, you should have good English Skills, writtings, and Knowledge.

English Precise and Composition

This Subject demands good English Grammer and precise writing.

Islamiyat

Maximum Marks 100.it can be taken in English or Urdu,, English is not Necessary,, Bsc level Islamic Question should be asked, all you need is Knowledge about Islam,

Divide into three papers

1. General Science and Ability 100 Marks
2. Current Affairs 100 Marks
3. Pakistan Affairs 100 Marks

These Subjects demand your consistency in reading newspapers and listing to The BBC and talk shows on current affairs. I suggest to Down newspapers.its is in English and well help in CSS

CSS Optional Subject

Optional Subject carrying 600 marks.

There is a total of 7 groups Each including 5 to 6 subjects. You should have chosen 6 subjects from 7 groups according to your aptitude and interest. I suggest you consult with your teacher any senior or with any CSS officer for choosing these subjects

Qualifying marks in the written examination

A candidate who failed ta attain 40% marks in compulsory subjects and 33 % marks in any optional subjects 50% marks in aggregate will consider being failed in the written examination,,

You can choose the Department according to your interest and aggregate. Job is given to the CSS officer in the following departments.

• Foreign Service of Pakistan
• Information group
• Inland revenue services
• Military land group
• Office management group
• Pakistan administrative service
• Pakistan audit and account service
• Pakistan custom service
• Pakistan police service
• Pakistan postal service
• Pakistan Railways

Selection Process for CSS

These are complete steps

1. Announcement of CSS Exam
2. Fulfillment of Eligibility criteria by candidates
3. Submission of application on or before the closing date
4. Written Examination
5. Medical test
6. Psychological test
7. Viva vice

There are 6 compulsory subjects of 100 marks each and the candidate has to select the subject of a total of 600 marks among optional subjects. After clearing the written part of the exam candidate to appear in the psychological test and viva voice test 300 marks. Thus total marks are 1500.
