Here I will guide steps on how to prepare and attempt MDCAT Paper.
𝗔𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆
The test consists of two major portions
- Basic Sciences include biology physics and chemistry
- The reasoning portion consists of math reasoning and science reasoning.
The total time for the test is two hours or 120 minutes. Time management plays a big role in your test outcome. So, have a proper time track for tests in your mind. The most important thing, at least have two rounds when you are solving the test.
In the first round, you will do the questions which seem familiar and will not take much time. If you are not clear about a question or find it lengthy, you will leave it for the second round.
Start with the basic sciences portion since you have gone through the syllabus very well and it will not take much of your time. Then come to the reasoning portion which will consist of critical thinking and IQ-based questions.
Here the questions will be more time taking. You will have to analyze the given information or provided scenarios and apply your concepts accordingly. You will be able to solve these questions if you put in enough time.

But don’t forget that you must pass both the portions separately. So, once you are done with 70-80% of the reasoning portion, have the second round of tests.
You will get back to your basic sciences portion. Now you will try to solve the remaining questions of this portion. Believe me, it works. Yes, you will be surprised. Most of the questions which were not clear in the first round will make sense in the second round. After this, you will get back to the reasoning portion. Now, that you are in the end phase, you can put your maximum available time into solving the remaining questions.
𝗡𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀
Math Reasoning and Science Reasoning portions do not have negative markings. So, You will always have the option of making guesses. Attempt all questions in those portions. Even if you are not clear, try to make some educated guess.
Basic Sciences Portion ( Bio, Chem, Phy) has -0.25/each wrong answer. It means that you will have a -1 mark for 4 wrong answers.

Therefore, Be super careful about negative marking in that portion. If you can eliminate two options and confuse b/w the remaining two options, then you should attempt it and make a sensible guess.
If you are in a “Do or Die situation” like you know, you will be out of the game, then I would suggest that try your luck and take the risk. Otherwise, you are already out.
𝗕𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝘆
Try to sleep early and have at least 6-8 hours of sleep. Wake up early morning. If you have to travel a long way to reach your test center, also manage time for it accordingly.
𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴
Have a good breakfast, most probably which will not happen. At least eat some fruits and can have coffee or tea for having an active mind. Keep some juice and chocolates with you while solving the test
𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹
The test will be more conceptual than MDCAT. It will require you to think out of the box and will check your critical and analytical thinking skills. I have gone through so many tests. Personally, I believe the AKU test was the best test of my life. You will enjoy that mind game IA.
𝗠𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗗𝗼’𝘀
Do offer Fajar prayer and have a deep talk with Allah Almighty. Pray to him, he surely listens to everyone.
Double-check and keep all your required documents ready.
During breakfast time, have a good conversation with your family, especially your parents.
Before leaving for the test center, meet and hug your parents tightly, it will boost your confidence and positive energy.
Do send Darood-o-salaams to the Holy Prophet (PBUH) during the whole time especially before starting the test. It will relax your mind and maintain your heart’s calmness.
Reach the test center at least one hour before the test time.
Double-check while filling out the computerized answer sheet. Make sure you are filling out the right bubble.

I hope you get your miracle soon. Allah, He tests us with all that we can handle. And I know that when we see what He has waiting for us, we will be so thankful for every single test.
These hardships have made you who you are, who Allah wants you to be. He wants you to call on him so that when he does respond, He will give you all that your heart has been asking for. Soon, your miracle will come, and you will realize with all patience, that a beautiful thing await.

Be confident, stay motivated, and believe in Allah Almighty.
